Writer

When I was 5 years old, my mom and I wrote a book together. It was in the late 80s, so she used construction paper for the pages and laminated the final product. The book was called "Let's Go Camping." She even cut every page in the shape of a tent. Of course when I say "we" wrote a book - she did the writing while I played with crayons and markers on the floor beside her while offering up random story arcs based on whatever my little imagination could create.

My mom passed in 2013 and over the years, I have looked everywhere but can't find this book we made together. It was never published and besides my dad and sister, no one else knew it existed. I might just recreate this book in the near future because that book was the beginning of me obsessing over stories on a page.

I've always loved writing but thought of it as something I should only focus on when I "have time," or just keep whatever I write to myself.

To that I now say - No more playing small. Now is always the best time.

I am a contributing writer for the online publication APPARELIST, where I write about business strategy, implementing effective systems in your company, and how to lead with purpose through collaboration and creativity. Apparelist is specific to the apparel and merch industry, however, a lot of the business basics that I write about can apply to just about any industry.
